Electric pressure washers are quite common in today’s market. These types of washers work on the principle of electric motors. One advantage of electric motors is that they have a very low maintenance and are fairly not noisy. There are also not exhaust gases produced and can be operated even in poorly ventilated areas.
A light duty and fairly good electric washer is one that has a typical rating of 115 volts and 15Amps. These ones are very common and are built for low price market. They do not have a very strong motor and do not generate a lot of pressure or volume. One thing that should be noted is that electric pressure washers are very compact and usually durable. However, they do not have a lot of power and have a limited capability.
There is an exception when it comes to electric washers from HP. They are rated differently compared to others. A typical low price one can be rated around 1 to 1-1/2 HP. That would be equivalent to a 3HP gas pressure washer. There are also heavy duty electric pressure washers available on the market. These ones are available for those applications where power is readily available and cases of portability is not a big problem. They can also come on handy and be highly required in areas that do not want exhaust gases associated with the use of gas engines.
